Important Omission Regarding Landing Pages

Hi All!

I’ve just noticed that in the ebook I forgot to mention one important thing with regards to making high converting landing pages. On my landing page I also included a relevant graphic, usually an ecover of the product (or any highly relevant graphic), which I copy from the merchant’s page. I don’t know if this is allowed or not - my reasoning is that the merchant probably wouldn’t object as it could only mean more business for him. If in doubt please ask for permission from the merchant or proceed at your own risk. I also included a caption underneath the graphic, that reiterated the main benefit of the ebook, and then put a link below that that says something like “click here for more information”. I then hyperlinked the ebook with my hoplink as well.

Some time ago, Marketing Sherpa came out with a guide documenting their experience with landing pages and made many suggestions on good landing page practices. I used several of their suggestions, which I also made to you in the ebook, to create my landing page which converted superbly. They pointed out that many people tend to click on graphics, thus the need for it to be hyperlinked. They also pointed out that the caption is one of the most-read parts of the landing page, so make sure you make it good and concise.

I apologize for this omission - don’t know how I missed such an important point!

What I’ve Been Doing

First of all I want to apologize for having disappeared for nearly 2 months. Here’s an update of what I’ve been doing while I was M.I.A.:

1)As I’ve told you in my last email, google had starting banning some of my adwords accounts, probably due to the fact that I was using frame redirects which was against their TOS.

2)In hopes that they would stop banning my remaining accounts, I spent two days to research good landing page practices, and created a landing page that I hoped would convert well.

3)Approximately a week later, google banned all of my remaining adwords accounts, probably because I had already been blacklisted and they did not bother to re-assess my remaining accounts for compliance.

4)The good news is that during that week of experimentation with my new landing page, I found that I got considerably higher sales conversions for all three campaigns I included in my experiment, as compared to using frame redirects. For one of the campaigns my conversion rate increased by more than 200%!

5)I spent the next few days brooding over my lost income stream, and trying to decide what I should do next.

6)I finally decided I wanted to try building white-hat niche sites and monetizing natural search engine results for a change (I had only tried black-hat adsense sites and PPC traffic before this point.)

7)Over the next three weeks I drafted a system for building niche sites quickly (well…relatively speaking) and efficiently, and completed my first niche site. I have yet to promote it though.

8)I also decided to finish my 10K/Month Clickbank ebook because 1) I’ve promised you kind folks I’d finish it, and 2) it would make me feel better knowing I’m helping other people to succeed with this method, since I already lost my adwords accounts - at least the method wouldn’t go to waste.

9)The ebook is now finished - all 100+ pages of it. The last sections took a long time and many revisions but it is now ready for first release. I’ll be sending out the download link either today or tomorrow.

I will now run off to write all of you an email…

How This Blog Got Started

It all started with my 1st post on the Warrior Forum, entitled “How I Do Over 10K in Clickbank Sales Every Month”, which got over 3000 views in the first 3 days alone…

Sometime last month, Clickbank made another tweak to their system, which caused my sales to suddenly plummet from $500-$800+/day to less than $200/day. I asked in a couple of forums whether other clickbank affiliates were seeing the same trend - they were.

Someone I was having a discussion with, PM’ed (private messaged) to ask me, “could you please tell me how you’re making so many sales a day?” I replied “it’s not alot, and my method is simple, but sure I can tell you, but instead of just PM’ing the method to you, I’ll post my method publicly in case other people also find it useful.”

It was close to midnight. I quickly typed up a post and published it in that forum. Half asleep by then, I decided it may be good to also paste it on a couple other forums - the Warrior and DigitalPoint forums. I had never made a post on the Warrior Forum prior to that, although I had registered as a member 1.5 years earlier.

I then dragged myself to bed.

The next morning I checked the Warrior Forum and….Holy Smokes! A whole page full of responses and an inbox full of PMs awaited me! Many fellow members left compliments and encouragement. Others asked for clarification. I was overwhelmed with this attention and kindness, which I felt I didn’t deserve. After all, I was (and am) still a newbie and “my” method was neither new nor rocket science.

The same post got similar responses in the other forums I posted to as well, and over the next days I would set aside a couple of hours each day to answer questions publicly in the forum, through PMs, and via email. A few people suggested that I write an ebook on the method, and said they would gladly pay for it. To repay their kindness, I decided to write an ebook and offer it for free. This was about three weeks ago.

So, here I am, finally starting on this ebook. English is not my first language (I came to Canada from Hong Kong when I was 9) and my vocabulary is very limited, but the encouragement I’ve received so far is urging me on. My incentive is the hope that at least one person who will be reading this ebook will take the action required to start generating a full-time income online. I know it’s possible, because I’m doing it.

Quite a few individuals have asked in the forums for proof of income to back up my claims. I refused to show any, simply because number one, I considered it bad form to brag in public forums, and number two, it’s nothing so extraordinary as to warrant bragging. However, after more thinking, I’m starting to think that maybe I should show some proof to the readers of my ebook, to instill faith and to provide encouragement that the method really does work - both of which I needed when I was a confused newbie trying to make my first dollar in IM.

What do you think? I just got a check from clickbank 2 days ago. Should I take a picture of it and post it here?

Thank-you my friends for all your encouragement. I’ll try to finish the ebook in the next few days and get it to you ASAP. If you haven’t signed up for the ebook already, you can do so here:
